District
Oststadt
Mannheim's most prestigious residential address, with villas, grand townhouses, the Friedrichsplatz, easy access to Luisenpark and the quarter around the Wasserturm.
The Oststadt is Mannheim's most distinguished residential district. Set between the Friedrichsplatz with the Wasserturm and the Kunsthalle, Luisenpark and the Quadrate squares, it is dominated by ornate Gruenderzeit villas, wide tree-lined avenues and refined cafes. The SAP Arena, the Maimarkt fairgrounds and the Technoseum sit on the southern edge of the district.
