District
Sandhofen
The northernmost district with a strong identity of its own: a historic village, an industrial zone, the Sandhofen forest and Mannheim's largest nature reserve.
Sandhofen was an independent municipality until 1913 and has retained its own character to this day. A historic village core around Schoenauer Strasse, the Sandhofen forest, the Reissinsel nature reserve and an industrial zone in the west sit side by side. A blend of village tradition and industrial reality, embedded in plenty of green space.
