Museum
Kunsthalle Mannheim
One of Germany's most important art museums, spectacularly reopened in 2018, with works from Manet and Beckmann through to contemporary sculpture.
Founded in 1907 and reopened in 2018 as a striking new building with a cubic sandstone-and-bronze facade, the Kunsthalle Mannheim ranks among the leading art museums in Germany. Its collection spans French and German modernism (Manet, Cezanne, Beckmann, Kirchner), major international sculpture (Rodin, Calder, Picasso) and rotating special exhibitions. The museum sits directly on Friedrichsplatz next to the Wasserturm.
